Manufacturer Provided Description
Whether you are ready to set sail for the islands or just around the buoys, the Hunter 36 can really make a difference. Starting with the tall, fractional rig, which is a direct descendent of the B&R rig that powered Hunter's Child to a second place finish in the BOC. Hunter has engineered the mast to carry less weight aloft with smaller sections. This is accomplished by utilizing swept-back spreaders and reverse diagonals. This combination provides superior strength without a backstay and increases the stability at the same time. With a mainsail that is furling in the mast, Hunter has eased the effort required with sail handling and allowed for real versatility for all wind and sea conditions. The deck layout reflects the innovation that accompanies the rig. An integrated arch protects the cockpit from snapping main sheets and blistering sun with the optional bimini. This arch keeps the cockpit clear and open. A custom console stands ready with the standard VHF and instruments. Single lever control and fold down table along with engine instrumentation complete the command station. The swim platform and walkthrough transom complete with shower and folding ladder are perfect for water sports or for boarding the tender. Storage is everywhere you look and the non-skid is absolutely first-rate.

HULL & DECK
The HUNTER 36 combines the best of structural design, rigging, and construction to produce one of the safest vessels on the market. Learning from their race winning/ legendary Tuesday's Child Hunter Marine also produced in the Hunter 36, a strong performer that is easy to sail to its capacity by casual cruisers.

  • KEVLAR reinforcement from the stem head to the keel sump to add strength and puncture resistance.
  • Solid glass below the waterline
  • Balsa cored decks and topsides
  • Reinforced mid sections to secure chain plates
  • Solid glass grid pan stiffens hull.
  • Stainless steel arch carries boom high out of danger and provides longer traveler for easier control and better trimming angles.
  • Exclusive B&R rigging system to create a pre-bended mast, and eliminate the backstay. Leaving a very strong and simple rig.
  • There is no exterior teak that needs to be kept up, Just rinse and go.
  • Rigid boom vang eliminates the need for topping lift.
  • Stern rail seats add 2 more positions to a cockpit that can handle 6 people already.
  • Mainsail furls into the mast with the same Selden system used on the Hallberg Rassey, Oyster, Passport and other very high-end boats.

Accommodations
The design brief for the HUNTER 36 also called for a very larger accommodation plan that would cater to those to like to entertain as well as sail. From the after stateroom to the vee cabin, the beam is maximized to provide a comfortable, safe, and inspired interior.

Aft stateroom features an athwartships, queen size, bed with a headboard and twin night stands, just you would enjoy at home.
Storage comes in all forms in the aft stateroom, there is storage behind the headboard, along the aft bulkhead and a hanging locker.
L-shaped galley with refrigeration, propane stove oven, excellent storage, and corian countertops.
Main saloon features a large dinette that converts to a double berth, and is off to the starboard side. Across from it is a straight settee that can be used as a single berth and is perfect for additional guests to socialize on the boat. Teak veneers warm up the entire space.
In the forward cabin there is a double vee berth, and hanging locker. There is also a louvered set of cafe doors that open between the vee cabin and the saloon to allow greater ventilation and light to be shared.
A full nav station faces aft at the end of the settee and allows for direct communication between the cabin and the cockpit.
Unusual in a boat this size, however the head features seperate compartments for the shower and general sink vanity.
