Description

The Colgate 26 was designed for Steve and Doris Colgate for their Offshore Sailing Schools. Designed by Naval Architect Jim Taylor and built by Precision Boat Works. Presently a new Colgate 26 can be ordered from Waterline Systems. Several Colgate 26s have been sold to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, the US Coast Guard Academy, and Maine Maritime Academy. These yachts have been used for instruction and intercollegiate competition. Whether you are an old salt or a learning sailor, the Colgate 26 is a delight to sail.  All controls for the main, jib, and spinnaker lead to the cockpit. The jib has Harken roller furling. There is a symmetrical spinnaker to provide fun on the downwind legs. The cockpit has plenty of seating. Inside the cuddy cabin is a porta-potty. There's room for two bunks. The boat has a main, furling jib, and spinnaker. There is an anchor and rode, dock lines and fenders. A VHF radio, and  a 2010 Mercury 6hp outboard motor. A galvanized magic tilt trailer is included.
