Second Star has been well-maintained throughout the years. She is a loved member of the family that has generated volumes of memories. This boat is in turnkey condition, complete with lots of extra accessories and spares to maximize your time on the water!
On deck, she's rigged for simplicity and comfort, but also shows her racing pedigree. A fractional, two spreader racing mast, Lewmar self-tailing winches, and Spinlock line clutches are but a few examples of the quality hardware with which she is outfitted. A teak toe rail surrounds the deck, and the teak-trimmed cockpit seats footwell adds eye appeal.
Wheel steering, a binnacle mounted compass, a recently added Raymarine Axiom 7 GPS, upgraded Raymarine Wheel pilot autopilot, speed and depth round out the displays on deck. This boat has ample lazarettes under the cockpit seats which provides a large amount of storage.
There are two mainsails. One is a 2020 Club racing main by Nielson which has not yet been used. The other main is in great condition circa 2010 Mylar UK racing sail. Two Genoas come with this boat, one is a 2018 North 155% made as a Furling racing sail, It has been used 2 times, this sail does not have a UV cover. The other Genoa is a 155% Radial cut Dacron sail by UK this sail has been used 3 times and has a UV cover. Included are two Spinnakers, a symmetrical From UK which has been lightly used. There is also a torn A2 by North this sail can be repaired. The original OEM sails are also part of the inventory. Included is a carbon fiber spin pole and an adjustable whisker pole. The cockpit contains a full-width traveler; this results in better mainsail control and better boat speed, and all lines lead aft for easy sail handling.
Pearwood throughout the cabin creates a warm and bright spacious feeling. There is air conditioning providing both cooled air and heat if needed when staying at the dock The galley to port provides a propane stove, refrigerator/freezer and deep-basin stainless sink. A fully enclosed head aft of the galley has plenty of standing headroom for showering and ample ventilation. To starboard you find a proper navigation station with a sit-down desk that opens, and an electrical panel, with a stereo and VHF. With space for navigation planning, log entries, or even a home office, you have plenty of room without sacrificing interior volume. Aft of the navigation station is a fully enclosed cabin with a queen-sized berth, a generous hanging locker, and battery switch access. Moving forward, the saloon will impress. Surrounded by portlights and "pear wood" stained interior finish, the settees to port and starboard are comfortable and provide storage underneath. Cabinetry behind each settee retains the classical styling of interior woodwork not often found on new boats. The table, with integral bottle storage, has fold out leaves to seat all of your guests, and the keel-stepped mast is forward and out of the way--an often overlooked, but intelligent design feature! The forward cabin is spacious and features two hanging lockers and a large opening hatch.
Second Star is powered by a 27 horsepower Yanmar diesel with a Feathering 2 blade Max prop propeller. Her rudder is constructed of a carbon-fiber stock on self-aligning bearings, and her 5'3" keel features a flared bottom for improved tracking under sail. This boat is offered with a complete Coast guard package, flares, PFDS, throwable PFD, air horn, and 2 fire extinguishers. Dock lines, fenders, and two shore power cords are included. There is also a custom-built winter cover. The Bimini and mainsail cover were replaced in 2018, included is a companionway cover and screen.
Second Star has had here bottom completely stripped and Barrier coated in 2018 she has had the bottom recoated with VC-17.
Most of the running rigging has been replaced in 2018 as well as the dock lines
