40-Passenger 12-Meter Yacht Completely Rebuilt for Commercial Service
(1974 Islander 55; U.S. Coast Guard Official Number ******)

3 Islander 55s were build by Islander Yachts in Costa Mesa, CA. One was owned by Teddy Kennedy (?Charisma? then Curragh); another circumnavigated twice. The Islander 55 was designed by renowned naval architect Bruce King to emulate a 1907-design 12-Meter racing cutter. She was designed as a centerboard cutter, but has been modified as a full keel (non-centerboard) sloop. Islander sold the hull mold to nearby Tradewinds Yachts. 12 Tradewinds 55?s were built with the Islander 55 hull mold. The Beach Boys owned a Tradewinds 55. This vessel, Raven, was completely rebuilt in 2017  the only original components remaining are the 1.5 inch thick hand-laid fiberglass hull, Proctor mast (belonged to former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Sir Edward Heath), and Perkins 4-236 engine. The vessel was rebuilt and re-equipped to U.S. Coast Guard commercial standards. The vessel has a valid COI (Certificate of Inspection) for 40 passengers. Fits 34+ passengers comfortably on deck. 34+ Passengers can escape inclement weather in the cabin. One manual head. Manual sinks in galley and head.
