Catalina Expo 12.5

The Catalina Expo 12.5 is a fun machine. Thanks to the SmartRig® and Hoyt boom, getting underway has never been this quick and easy! There are no stays, no chainplates, and no halyards. Putting the boat away is also a snap, as both mast and boom are deck-stepped and removable by hand, without any tools, in minutes. This is one boat every member of the family and friends will want to sail all day long. The tapered one piece carbon fiber mast means more sail power, with less weight aloft. The rotating SmartRig mast acts as a reefing line and furling drum to shorten or increase sail effortlessly. The same line even rolls the sail completely around the mast for storage. The Expo 12.5 has a seat across the cockpit, perfect for a crew member who is just learning to sail, or just wants a comfortable place to enjoy the ride. Best of all the Expo 12.5 is a Catalina and is built with the same quality materials and attention to detail as every other model we build. Standard items include a one-piece fiberglass deck with molded-in non-skid and hand laid fiberglass hull. Full flotation inside the hull means the 12.5 is virtually unsinkable. The Expo 12.5 is perfect for the new or experienced sailor who want a great handling sailboat that is non-technical. Simple to rig, exciting to sail, the 12.5 is all about fun on the water.

Catalina 14.2

The Catalina 14.2 is the perfect combination of day sailing comfort and racing performance for the active sailing family or couple. Stability and easy handling make the 14.2 an ideal boat to learn in, while the experienced skipper will enjoy the active one design racing class. The 14.2 is available in two keel designs: Centerboard model with easily retracted centerboard and kick-up rudder for beaching and easy trailer launching and the Keel model with high aspect cast lead keel, for storage on a mooring or dock. The 14.2 is built of hand-laminated fiberglass with molded-in nonskid, anodized aluminum spars, stainless steel rigging and quality hardware.

Catalina 14.2 Expo

The design of the Catalina Expo 14.2 is based on the hugely successful Catalina 14.2. Having built over 5,000 Catalina 14.2s the Expo is intended as an alternative rig configuration for those new to sailing or experienced sailors who want to enjoy the fun of small boat sailing in a simple, non-technical fun boat. The SmartRig® system consists of a tapered carbon fiber mast and deck stepped Hoyt boom. Just two lines control all the sail’s power. One line controls the sail size, while the mainsheet line shapes the sail. Strong, yet flexible, the mast bends in the gusty conditions instead of the boat heeling excessively. Having far less weight than an aluminum mast, the boat is more stable, with less tipping. At the end of the day, just pull the furling line and the sail wraps completely around the mast. The mast and boom are free-standing and have no wires or chainplates to work around. This not only greatly decreases set-up time, but makes for a roomy, more comfortable, inviting cockpit. The one-piece aluminum Hoyt boom is up high and out of the way, with no chance of falling into the cockpit.

Catalina 16.5

The Catalina 16.5 boasts a big roomy cockpit, and large storage locker forward, making for ideal family outings. The 16.5 is available in two keel designs. The Centerboard model features a powerful sailplan, balanced by the stable hull form and fiberglass centerboard and rudder. Adjustable hiking straps, tiller extension, adjustable outhaul, and sheet bag are all standard equipment. The Keel model is perfect for storing the boat on a mooring or dock most of the season. A molded-in sealed bilge sump is included. The high aspect keel is cast lead and attached with stainless steel keel bolts.

Catalina 22 Capri

Known for its sweet sailing performance in nearly all conditions, the Catalina Capri 22 has been winning sailors since it’s introduction. The Capri 22 is more comfortable, safer at sea and easier to maintain than any boat in it’s class. The striking deck profile is flared across the stern and has wider cockpit curves for crew comfort during and after sailing. Under the full reclining length seats is a new storage locker and separate battery locker. A complete racing package is available, including: symmetrical spinnaker, sheets, pole and backstay tension adjuster. The enclosable head and available galley module make the Capri 22 suitable for extended daysailing or weekending.

Catalina 22 Sport

In response to Catalina 22 owners’ requests for a production boat that more accurately reflects the original dimensions and weight of this popular one design boat, Catalina Yachts is now building the Catalina 22 Sport. Catalina Yachts aims to encourage more family racing with the thousands of first generation 22s by offering an alternative to finding an older boat, and restoring it just to be competitive in the dozens of established Catalina 22 fleets. Like the first Catalina 22, the 22Sport is easy to trailer, and a great boat to step up from dinghy sailing to a pocket cruiser/race, offering the quality and value Catalina owners have come to expect since 1970.

Catalina 275 Sport

The new Catalina 275 Sport just may be the boat you’ve been waiting for. Maybe you want to recapture the pure joy of sailing in a simpler but stylish boat that doesn’t require much effort or crew to get you out on the water… Maybe you no longer need the amenities or complications of a larger boat just to enjoy an afternoon out on the water with a few friends… Maybe a pretty and fast boat will just be more fun to own! The new Catalina 275 Sport is the 5 Series’ newest design from Catalina. It reflects what many sailors have told us – they no longer need that big boat, but don’t want to give up racing or day sailing. They are spending fewer nights aboard, but still want the ability to overnight, even if it’s an occasional trip with kids or grandkids. The 275 Sport was designed to meet these desires and exceed expectations. We started with a modern, long waterline, and kept the beam modest to allow trailering. The handsome hull is coupled with a powerful rig with large main and selftacking jib, which makes the 275 not only fast, but also super-easy to sail. The cockpit is what the 275 is all about. The helmsman will become reacquainted with the simple pleasure of steering a well-balanced responsive boat with a tiller from the comfortable, ergonomically designed outboard coamings. Accommodations below are adequate for weekending or just getting out of the weather, and an enclosed head is always appreciated, even on day sails
